Santa’s Date Night
This is a child care service that will take place on December 8, 2018 following Mass. This event will last from 5:30–9:30 pm. Children will be served Spaghetti and Meatballs, green beans, and garlic toast. They will make a holiday craft, play musical chairs and have a Christmas caroling dance party then finish the night off with a showing of the movie, The Star. Advanced Registration is required to ensure we have proper childcare workers in place. We have had a large outpouring of interest in this event from our social media pages. Sign up will be limited and slots will be filled on a first come first serve basis. This is not a fundraising event however, a fee of $5 per child will be used to cover the cost of the meal, craft, and supplies. A family cap of $20 will be in place. Ages will be from 18 months and up.
Contact Jennifer Arnold email@example.com with specific questions about this event.

FOOD PANTRY DONATIONS
Please bring food donations to the Masses on the THIRD week-end of the month. Thank you for making the effort to help those who are less fortunate. If you forget your donations on the third weekend, simply bring them on any other weekend and put them in the side sacristy in Upper or in the entrance at the Chapel in Kirby. Folks continue to experience hunger all year long, so please keep donating. Thank you!
Athletic Director Needed!!
After two years the Baker Family is looking for someone who can take over the Athletic Director role for the St. Peter CYO Program.
Chad and Christina are willing to begin the “transition” this coming school year by working with the new family through
the volleyball and basketball seasons so there will be plenty of opportunity for the new AD to learn everything they need
to know to take over. If you are interested in serving in this role on your own or
by partnering with another family, please call or text Chad at 614-309-4104 or Christina at 614-306-9286.
THE WELCOME COMMITTEE is offering a meal to new parents returning home from the hospital with your new-born miracle of life. This is an opportunity for the family not to have to worry about what to prepare for supper. Please call Mary Riedlinger or Joan Kincade if you would like to have a nice dinner with no cooking
SPS Challenge Grant
I am always amazed at people’s generosity. In response to a recent mailing to our out-of-town alumni in which we updated them on the current happenings at St. Peter School, I received a phone call from a former student, Dave Logsdon, who wanted to speak further about how best to help our school. In our conversation, he decided to set up a “challenge grant” in memory of his mother, Carol C. Logsdon and in honor of his father, Maury Logsdon. The Logsdon Family Foundation will match up to $10,000 in support for our school, such as: school library, audio-visual equipment, technology, teaching and learning resources, and the gift that keeps on giving, the School Endowment Fund. If you would like to take part in this challenge, please mark your donation: "SPS Challenge Grant".
We thank Maury Logsdon and his family for supporting our efforts here at St. Peter School. Each gift is a blessing to our students, families and staff.
We have received another generous donation to the St. Peter School Challenge Grant, for a total of $6,425. The Logsdon Family Foundation matches up to $10,000. Thank you all for your generous support of our great school!

There is no school Thursday or Friday this week as we celebrate Thanksgiving. Take this time to enjoy family and friends. Remember, November is the month for an attitude of gratitude.
The students and staff at St. Peter School wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving and we thank you for supporting us in our mission...to teach as Jesus did.
You are part of our November attitude of gratitude and you are kept in our prayers daily.
In planning your December calendar be sure and mark Tuesday, December 11th, for our all school Christmas Program at 7:00 PM. Dress rehearsal will be on the 10th at 12:30 if that works better for you.
Thank you for providing us with such a great school. And remember this November, let your heart be full of thanks and giving.

The RE classes have collected non-perishable food items for the food pantries over the past couple of weeks. The food has been delivered to the food pantries in Upper and Forest. Thank you to all the families who helped make this annual contribution a success. Giving to others either through prayer, service, or monetary donations is a virtue we are trying to instill in the students.
This week there will be no RE classes on the eve of Thanksgiving. After Thanksgiving we have four remaining classes before the Christmas break, November 28, Dec 5, 12 and 19.
December 12 - Upper Advent Penance Service for grades 3-7 and Confirmation Class.
December 19 - Kirby Advent Penance Service for grades 3-7. Grades K - 2 will have regular class as usual both weeks.
Please have a safe and thankful holiday week-end with your family and friends. Let us give thanks to the Lord for all our RE students, teachers and their families.

Holiday Wreaths and Greenery will be arriving the week of Thanksgiving. School families will be collecting the goods November 26/27 and will distribute to those who have ordered. If you missed out and would like to purchase something there is time to do that and have it shipped to you or a loved one far away. Simply log onto www.mickmanholidaygifts.com and then use the ID STPETEOH001. Each item ordered from this site will result in an $8 donation back to our school and can be the perfect way to send cheer to a loved one miles away.
