Pastoral Council Purpose and Objectives The Pastoral Council of Transfiguration of the Lord Parish is an advisory and recommending body for the pastoral leadership of our parish. The Council assists in fostering the vision, mission, and pastoral activity of the parish through counsel, support, and providing recommendations regarding planning to the Pastor. A. Purpose: To assist the pastor in his leadership role of planning, organizing, initiating, promoting, coordinating and reviewing the seven parish areas: worship, formation, parish life, evangelization, ecumenism, social outreach, and stewardship. B .Objectives: 1.To assess adequately the needs of the whole parish and its members, and to develop and implement a pastoral plan which will promote the common good of the parish. 2.To foster unity and sense of community in the parish and to coordinate all parish activities in a manner that will best serve the interests of the parish. 3.To promote programs and activities in keeping with the mission of the universal church, especially those recommended by the bishop and diocesan agencies as well as the pastoral council itself.
